Southern Forests Truffle Hunt

Southern Forests Truffle Hunt

Our On the Hunt Truffle Food Discovery Tour takes place in the midst of the majestic Southern Forests, in WA’s very first truffle orchard. The culmination of our afternoon of truffle hunting in the fresh air is a fabulous, one-off private social dinner event cooked by Matters of Taste’s owner and chef, Tracey Cotterell. The evening starts with a wine tasting amongst the vines at one of the region’s most stunning vineyards. Mingle with fellow travellers and indulge in what will be a down-to-earth wine and food taste experience.

Behind the Farm Gate - Southern Forests WA

Behind the Farm Gate – Southern Forests WA

Immerse yourself in a world of flavour and food. Unearth the fascinating and often-hidden rural life of primary food producers in Manjimup and Pemberton.

For over a decade, Anthony and Tracey have been taking small groups to this magical region on their Behind the Farm Gate Food Discovery Tours. Guided by long-standing relationships with the people who grow and make this region’s food, time on the land brings real insight – sparking curiosity, deepening appreciation and understanding, and starts guests thinking about food choices. All of it is shared through generous meals, open conversations and genuine country hospitality.

Behind every bite of great food is someone who grew it with care. On our Southern Forests tour, you’ll meet people who are real Australian heroes -farmers, producers and innovators dedicated to working with the land, not against it. From regenerative growers to best practice beef farmers and visionary bakers, each has a powerful story to share. These are the people shaping the future of food, and you’ll get to hear their stories firsthand.
