If you are interested in Australian Flora and Fauna, you will love the Nangawooka Flora Reserve.

It is an Australian native garden on the outskirts of Victor Harbor, 5 km from the city centre, and is located opposite Urimbirra Wildlife Park .

It was started in 1982 , with the first plantings established in 1983. Nangawooka is a small 2ha reserve, home to over 1,200 varieties of Australian native plants. It is also a haven for birds and has a bird hide. Most of the work is done by volunteers, the Friends of Nangawooka.

The plantings range from local species to WA species at the Northern end of the reserve. There is a mix of native species in the centre and species specific to the Fleurieu Peninsula nearer the Southern entrance. Colourful and scented flowering starts in mid winter and is at its peak early Spring, and the display usually lasts into late Summer. Over 90% of the plants have identifying tags.

Nangawooka is open to the public daily in daylight hours, and is an ideal venue for a morning tea stop if you bring your own picnic. It has seen small outdoor weddings and functions . As well as picnic areas, there is a gazebo and toilets are available. The Reserve is wheel-chair accessible.
