Dishing up Lebanese fare since 2016, Nour has become a staple on Sydney’s foodie scene – giving those interested in Middle Eastern cooking a new and playful version of their favourites.

With an open kitchen and woodfired oven, it is also one of the most atmospheric places to dine in the city. From the moment you step off Crown Street and into the room of pastel pink, soft-toned wood and mirrors reflecting the kitchen hard at work, it’s all about the theatre.

Meanwhile, the menu is focused on shared plates, and the entire line-up is simply mouth-watering: Fremantle octopus with fried potato and whipped roe, yellowfin tuna with caramelised kishk, cabbage skewers with harissa and macadamia tahini, and chicken bits shawarma with tarator, pickled cabbage and yoghurt bread. All breads, dips, couscous, yoghurt, labneh and ashta are made in house.
