Provenance means place of origin, which is at the heart of everything at this enchanting winery. From vineyard to glass, from local farm to plate, Provenance’s ethos is about preserving the identity of place. Taking their task seriously with seven vineyards across southwest Victoria, specifically planted with the best match of vineyard site with the best-suited grape varieties.

The family-owned operation features a cellar door, restaurant, and winery all on site in a beautifully restored heritage-listed bluestone building, positioned on the banks of the Barwon River at the historic Fyansford Paper Mill, minutes from the heart of Geelong.

Provenance Wines has proudly been awarded the highest rating of ‘red 5-star’ by the Halliday Wine Companion since 2011, placing them in the elite best of Australia. In 2018 and 2019, they were awarded the Gourmet Traveller Star Cellar Door Award for the Geelong Region and the coveted Halliday Wine Companion 2019 Best Value Winery in Australia. Plus, their 2021 Geelong Shiraz won Best Shiraz and Wine of Show at the Geelong Wine Show, then was awarded the Premier’s Award for the Best Wine at the Victorian Wine Show.

They are thrilled to serve distinctly local, high-quality seasonal dishes from head chef Nate McIver and his excellent kitchen crew, expertly paired with current and museum wines. They look forward to welcoming all guests. Bookings are essential.
