Walk or cycle along the Rattler Trail. This 19 kilometre trail passes vineyards, farms and landmarks. Taste wine at one of the nearby cellar doors and browse through art galleries.
The Rattler Trail is an extension of the Riesling Trail. Opened in 2010, it was built on the former railway line that ran from Auburn to Riverton.
The Rattler Trail forms a loop trail within the Mawson Trail network. Enjoy the scenic views from the hills along the Mawson Trail.
At Riverton, the Rattler Trail starts from the oval. At Auburn, the trail starts at Mount Horrocks Wine. There are public toilets in local towns and nearby car parking spaces in Riverton, Rhynie and Auburn.
Take your own bike or hire one in Auburn via the Auburn Caravan Park, Saddleworth Road.
