Located on the south‑eastern edge of Wilpena Pound, Rawnsley Park Station adjoins Ikara–Flinders Ranges National Park and is approximately 420 kilometres north of Adelaide, an easy five‑hour drive on sealed roads.
Rawnsley Park Station is a working sheep station offering guests the opportunity to experience the natural beauty, wildlife and sense of space of this ancient and rugged landscape. A wide range of accommodation options is available to suit different travel styles and budgets. These include secluded bush camping, powered camping and caravan sites, shearers’ quarters, budget cabins, and one, two and three‑bedroom self‑contained holiday units.
For those seeking a premium stay, Rawnsley Park Station also offers four‑and‑a‑half‑star straw‑bale constructed Classic Eco‑Villas and the historic Rawnsley Homestead.
New Oasis Eco‑Villas, each featuring a private plunge pool, are currently under construction and open for bookings from November 1, 2026, offering an additional eco‑luxury accommodation option.
Facilities include a general store selling food, alcohol and souvenirs, petrol and diesel, EV Charger, outdoor swimming pools, and the Woolshed Restaurant, which features a seasonal menu showcasing the station’s own lamb. Free public Wi‑Fi is available, with Telstra and Optus mobile coverage across the property.
Guests can enjoy walking and cycling trails, guided four‑wheel‑drive tours led by qualified guides, scenic or helicopter flights, and Heli‑Camping. Friendly staff are available to assist with planning activities and exploring the surrounding region.

Rawnsley Homestead
Rawnsley Homestead is a luxury two-bedroom home offering spectacular views of Wilpena Pound and the Chace Range.
Built in the 1950’s from local stone hand-quarried from a rocky outcrop, Rawnsley Homestead offers all the ambience of a traditional Australian Outback home – including wide verandas, thick stone walls and galvanised iron roof – combined with a spacious, contemporary interior.
Secluded and private, the property features an outdoor shower, swimming pool, large living area and dining room, original pine flooring, gourmand’s kitchen and two king bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. It’s ideal for couples holidaying together or a family.
The homestead, formerly known as Arkapena Homestead, is located on the 12,000 hectare Rawnsley Park Station.
A five minute drive from reception, homestead guests have full access to Rawnsley Park Station facilities, including The Woolshed Restaurant which serves lunch and dinner seven days, four-wheel-drive tours, scenic flights and bushwalking trips.
Eco-Villa One Bedroom
Offering uninterrupted views of Wilpena Pound and the surrounding ranges, these one bedroom Eco Villas are built from Straw bales and recycled timber. They have over-bed skylights, wide verandahs and spacious living areas.
Bunkhouse
Set in a private location, the bunkhouse sleeps up to 22 people in five separate rooms, each with heating and cooling. The bedrooms feature modern and solid bunk beds, all with linen, and there is a large indoor kitchen with gas stoves, fridges and freezers along with a spacious indoor dining room. There is an outdoor, undercover barbecue area and open-air fire-pit, along with modern and clean ablution facilities with separate male and female showers and toilets. Within walking distance to the campground, shop and swimming pool, the Bunkhouse provides a great base-camp for groups exploring the Central Flinders Ranges.
Park Cabins
Located in an idyllic setting next to Kangaroo Creek, our cabins have a double bed and two bunks, sleeping up to six people. Each cabin has kitchen facilities with bar fridge, air-conditioning, TV and DVD, a fire-pit and only linen for the double bed is included. There are communal bathroom and toilet facilities, and guests can also utilise the camp kitchen and free gas barbecues. We now have 2 pet friendly cabins, which are available at a charge of $10 per pet per night.
