RedGround, located in Oberon, NSW, offers two distinct, immersive truffle hunting experiences. As the only truffière producing four culinary varieties of truffles, RedGround provides a truly unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of truffle cultivation.

The truffle hunt, touch and taste experience takes place during the cooler months and focuses on the black truffle. This experience begins with a truffle tasting and an informative talk led by experts on truffle growing. Guests are then guided through the truffière by trained truffle-hunting dogs, experiencing the thrill of uncovering truffles and learning about the intricate harvesting process. The tour concludes at the truffle hunting lodge with savoury truffle tastings paired with sparkling wine, a discussion on truffle grading, and a sweet truffle tasting to finish.

In contrast, the twilight truffle hunt and gourmet pizza experience offers a magical evening escape during the warmer months. The experience starts at dusk with a welcome truffle champagne cocktail and canapés, followed by an introduction to truffle cultivation and dog scent detection training. After a twilight truffle hunt, guests return to the lodge to create their own wood-fired truffle pizzas, enjoying a two-hour drinks package as the sun sets.

Both experiences take place in RedGround’s picturesque setting, a 2.5-hour drive from Sydney. Guests are advised to wear sturdy, waterproof shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. For biosecurity reasons, pets are not permitted.
