Grampians Retreat is a secluded bush sanctuary near Dunkeld, so close, yet a world away from your everyday. It offers the perfect getaway for families, friends, reunions, retreats, corporate retreats, school camps and special interest groups.
Grampians Retreat specialises in hosting school camps, outdoor adventure and education and large groups with all facilities on site. It also hosts campers, outdoor adventurers who make the most of the natural environment and families, friends and clubs looking to relax and connect.
Guests laze by the pool in summer, watch wallabies graze, listen to a myriad of birds and enjoy campfire nights under starry skies. Adventure camps provide thrills on the giant swing, while archery and mountain bike riding are among other adventures to be sampled. Overnight or longer expeditions take adventurers to wilder places. Enjoy generous country-style meals or choose self-catering. Cabins are affordable and cosy, alongside facilities well placed for celebrations, Christmas gatherings or end of year functions.
Grampians Retreat is on 80 acres of bushland, wetlands, river flats, grasslands and heaths at the base of Mud-Dadjug (Mt Abrupt), bordered by the Grampians National Park and the Wannon River. The new Grampians Peaks Trail, a wilderness hiking adventure is at the doorstep. Grampians National Park is your playground, a richly bio-diverse environment, with spectacular scenery and Indigenous cultural sites.

Baingugg Block – Seven bed cabins
The building consists of four cabins. Two rooms have seven single beds, one rooms has four beds and the fourth room has three beds. Beds are predominantly in bunk style formation. Pathways lead to the communal areas. A large veranda fronts the rooms with bench style seating. Heating is provided.
Tassie Block
The building consists of two cabins, one with twelve beds and the second with six single beds, mostly in bunk style formation. Pathways lead to the communal areas. Verandas are at both entrances. Heating is provided.
Gariwerd Getaway
This room is purpose built for wheelchair and disability access but can equally be used as a twin share motel room. Guests have a large entrance hall to the room, spacious single bed space which leads to a very large en suite facility. Heating and television complete this well appointed accommodation option. A covered veranda adjoining the room leads to the function / recreation room with a fully equipped kitchen for the use of guests.
Bunjil Centre
This is the main dining room for the complex. Also called ‘The Centre’, there is seating for over 80 guests. This building houses the fully equipped kitchen, large cool room, dining room, ablution blocks (with laundry) and one bunk room (6 beds) with en-suite facilities. It offers a spectacular view of Mt Abrupt and opens to the outdoor eating and leisure area and pool surrounds. Being well lit and heated, with public telephone, television/DVD player and stereo, groups enjoy the ambience of this area.
Wurgarri Block
Two spacious cabins each with nine single beds and ensuite facilities. Separate access to the shower, bathroom and toilet facilities. Pathways lead to the communal areas. A wide veranda with outdoor bench seating completes the building. Heating provided.
Gariwerd Function Room
This large multi purpose/function room becomes a wedding venue, conference centre or indoor recreational facility. Seating and tables provide for over 120 guests or alternatively the large space can be used for whatever purpose e g yoga studio, patchwork work space, line dancing class.
A fully equipped kitchen provides for overnight visitors or is used as a servery and bar for celebrations and special occasions. There are two table tennis tables, television, piano, organ, DVD player, stereo system and a cinema complex. A quiet lounge area sits in one area. The room is well lit and heated. It can also be sectioned into two areas.
Murdadjoog Block
The building consists of three cabins, each with seven single beds, mostly in bunk style formation. Pathways lead to the communal areas. A large veranda fronts the rooms with bench style seating. Heating is provided.
