This guided cultural experience begins with a walk through the tranquil gardens, where participants learn about the symbolism and design elements that blend Japanese and Australian landscapes. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the history of the gardens and the cultural connection between Ipswich and its sister city of Nerima in Japan.
The experience then continues in the authentic Tea House, where Japanese hosts demonstrate the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha (powdered green tea). Guests may participate in the ceremony or observe the ritual while seated.
