This fully guided tour is a great introduction to snowshoeing and snow camping.
Enjoy two days snowshoeing around the beautiful Mt Stirling with one night camping at Bluff Spur Memorial Hut.
The hut provides a good shelter and warmth to cook in and socialise in.
Along the way, hike through magnificent Alpine Ash forest and into the high alpine areas covered in Snow Gums. Explore high country huts and enjoy breathtaking views, weather permiting.
This adventure is physically and mentally demanding, therefore requires good level of fitness and mental strength. You will be required to wear snowshoes and carry an overnight backpack, which will weigh between 21 to 25kg. You will also need warm, waterproof winter clothing.
Children 15 years and older should be able to complete this tour, but they will be required to carry a fully loaded pack. For families with children, they distribute the pack weight so that children carry a little less, but parents need to pick up the balance.
