This program opens with Gershwin’s spirited An American in Paris, capturing the excitement and whimsy of the Jazz Age. Renowned classical accordionist James Crabb premieres Holly Harrison’s new concerto, shaped by her lively rhythms and blues-infused style. The concert builds to Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, dancing between delicate winds, suspenseful strings, and assertive brass.

Supported through ASO’s Miriam Hyde Circle as Patrons of Holly Harrison by the Hon Catherine Branson AC SC, the Hon Diana Laidlaw AM, Dr Malcolm Mackinnon, McDougall Telfer Foundation and Roderick Shire & Judy Hargrave.
