The iconic Finke Desert Race is an off-road, multi terrain two day race for bikes, cars and buggies through desert country from Alice Springs to the small Aputula (Finke) community. The race is held each year on the long weekend in June.

The race is the main feature in the off road racing calendar and the King of the Desert Trophy is arguably the most sought after prize, although…just getting there and back is a victory.

This year will mark 50 years.

This unique outback event is said to be one of the most difficult off-road races in the world through remote terrain of red dirt, sand and spinifex. For 3 days, up to 750 bikes and 200 buggies & trophy trucks compete annually at this one of a kind race.

The Tatts Finke Desert Race is Australia’s ultimate desert race.
