Located in the back streets of Marrickville, the Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre is much more than your average brewery.
On the ground floor, you’ll enjoy access to The Public Bar, where they’re serving tank-fresh Hawke’s beer, local wines, spirits and cocktails; The RJLH Pool Room, which also houses the Bob Hawke photo & memorabilia gallery; and The Patio, where guests can cradle a beer while the setting sun kisses one cheek and the Marrickville breeze caresses the other.
For an upscale experience, ascend the stairs to the tropical heights of the Sanctuary Cove mezzanine and order a cold drink at the Ansett Bar.
Finally, don’t miss an opportunity to dine at the Lucky Prawn Chinese-Australian bistro – a mashup of local RSL and an 1980s Australian-Chinese restaurant found in regional towns across the country. For casual dining, bar snacks such as prawn toast, scallop wontons with chilli dressing, pork sang choi bao, hot and numbing chicken wings and vegetable dumplings. Or settle in for a feast, with main meal menu highlights including pippies in XO sauce, crab omelette, sizzling beef and spicy eggplant.
The brewery itself is also located onsite. Aside from serving the brand’s core range, you can also order a rotation of ‘one-hit wonder’ releases.
