An oasis of green set on the rooftop of the Mosman RSL Club, The Fernery feels part bar and restaurant/part greenhouse. Interiors have a chic 70s-inspired style, with pastel pink walls, cane furniture and subway tiles throughout. That’s if you can take your eyes off the view, which stretches over Sydney Harbour and the heads to the spires of the city skyscrapers.
The seasonal menu has an Italian flavour and many of the fresh ingredients are picked right from the rooftop’s kitchen garden. Octopus, fish, chicken and steak are grilled in a top-of-the-line Josper Oven. To drink, the cocktails are too pretty to pass up or there’s a solid and well-priced wine list. There are also dedicated gin and rosé bars, plus plenty of other cosy nooks you can escape to at any time of day.
