The Three Seas return to Australia to launch Antaḥkaraṇa, their most expansive work to date. Written and recorded at Peter Gabriel’s legendary Real World Studios in the UK, the album brings together musicians from Australia and West Bengal, marking 15 years of musical exchange and collaboration.
Their sound weaves Baul mysticism, Himalayan folk, spiritual jazz, dub, folk-rock, and global grooves. Sung in Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, and English, Antaḥkaraṇa takes its name from the Sanskrit word for “inner instrument”, the meeting place of memory, intuition, identity, and soul. Ancient poetry sits inside dub grooves, Nepali folk melodies entwine with baritone sax riffs, and chants resonate alongside rock and electronica.
Live, The Three Seas create immersive performances for the body and mind. Moving between big dancefloor energy and reflective, meditative spaces, The Three Seas invite audiences into a collective experience grounded in rhythm, unity, and shared humanity.
