The Whimsy is an early 1900s miners cottage located at Weldborough in North East Tasmania at the foot of the mystical Blue Tier.
The area is known for its magical ancient fairytale rainforests, once a home for the Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine). But you will find there is much more to discover about Weldborough which has a rich history including Mount Paris Dam now hidden away in the forest and a must to see. Weld river sapphires are also a drawcard for fossickers.
Weldborough is a central location for riding the Blue Derby, Blue Tier and Bay of Fires Mountain Bike trails. MTB shuttles run from the Historic Weldborough Hotel which is only a 5 minute walk from the Whimsy. A number of trails can also be accessed directly from The Whimsy and a secure bike store is provided at the property.
