The Woodhouse Bar and Grill is Bendigo’s only dedicated steakhouse and has been a favourite among locals and visitors since opening in 2012. Known for its unique wood-fired dining experience, the restaurant specialises in premium beef and seasonal local produce, all prepared over an open flame.
Led by chef and owner Paul Pitcher, The Woodhouse focuses on quality ingredients and honest cooking, with a menu that highlights exceptional Wagyu beef alongside a range of carefully crafted dishes celebrating regional produce.
Complementing the menu is an extensive drinks list curated by sommelier Steve Gerdes, featuring more than 28 wines by the glass and over 300 by the bottle. The list showcases both local Victorian wineries and renowned European producers, offering something to suit every taste. Guests can also enjoy a wide selection of craft beers, premium spirits and signature cocktails.
The venue’s contemporary bar, opened in late 2024, has quickly become a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Manager Toryn Church and the team have developed a refined drinks menu featuring creative cocktails made with thoughtfully sourced ingredients that support local producers.
Guests can enjoy a selection of snacks and bar fare designed to accompany the drinks offering. Walk-ins are welcome in the bar, while bookings are recommended for the grill.
