Step aboard the majestic PS Oscar W—one of South Australia’s rare surviving operational wood-fired paddle steamers maintained and crewed entirely by passionate volunteers. Operated by The Friends of the Oscar W, a not-for-profit community group, this living museum invites you to relive the golden era of river trade with an authentic paddle steamer cruise along the Lower Murray.

Built in 1908 and lovingly restored, the Oscar W is more than a boat—it’s a working tribute to Australia’s riverboat heritage, offering visitors a front-row seat to the timeless charm of steam-powered travel.
