Enjoy a more private and relaxed way to travel on the Mary Valley Rattler with the VIP Booth Experience, a unique heritage rail journey near the Sunshine Coast and Gympie.
Departing from the historic Gympie Station, this premium experience includes priority boarding and reserved seating in your own booth within a heritage carriage. Ideal for groups, families or special occasions, the VIP Booth Experience offers a comfortable and social way to enjoy a scenic 40km return journey through the picturesque Mary Valley.
As you travel through rolling farmland, forests and charming country towns, your personal attendant will serve a local tasting plate and beverage onboard. Bar facilities are also available throughout the journey.
At Amamoor, guests can disembark to watch the locomotive turn on the historic railway turntable and enjoy time to explore the village green before returning to Gympie.
On return, the experience continues with lunch at Rusty Rails Café, including your choice from the VIP set menu and a beverage.
The VIP Booth Experience is available for groups of four or more guests. Smaller bookings may be seated with other VIP guests.
Advance bookings are essential as availability is limited.

Mary Valley Rattler Tours

Find yourself rocking, rolling, and leaning into an abundance of gentle curves as the iconic steam train travels through the picturesque small town of Dagun on the journey to the historical town of Amamoor. This is a train trip you would have never experienced before!
Guests can design their own memorable experience on the Mary Valley Rattler. Choose your train journey from their fleet of heritage steam and diesel locomotives, or railmotors on the Classic Rattler Run, Ride with the Driver or Silver Bullet High Tea.
Then, continue your romance of the railway, upgrading your ride with a VIP experience package designed to suit the whole family – even your fur-friends are welcome to enjoy a magical day with Mary Valley Rattler.
