Wedgetail is a family-run, boutique winery located in the Nillumbik hills district of the Yarra Valley, just five minutes beyond the historic village of Hurstbridge, and under an hour from Melbourne.
Founded in 1994 on the western side of the Yarra Valley, Wedgetail Estate’s elevated, cool-climate vineyards produce Pinot Noir of depth and power, alongside crisp, refreshing Chardonnay. Every bottle reflects the estate’s commitment to quality, with hand-tended, estate-grown fruit and a low intervention approach to wine-making that allows each vintage to express its place and season.
But Wedgetail Estate is more than vines and barrels. Set within the working winery, the cellar door features striking rammed earth walls and recycled timbers, a space full of rustic character. The owners personally host each tasting, sharing the stories behind their wines to create a warm, engaging experience. Expansive views across the vineyard stretching to the Kinglake Ranges leave a lasting impression.
Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover searching for a hidden gem or seeking a quiet escape from the Yarra Valley crowds, Wedgetail Estate delivers handcrafted wines, down-to-earth hospitality, and breathtaking scenery. A true must-visit destination in the region.
