Whalesong Cruises, a local family owned/operated business specialises in Humpback Whale and Dolphin close encounters from their luxurious, purpose built vessel. Wide decks, multi-level viewing and low passenger numbers provides you optimal space to interact with the curious and playful whales.
An ultimate bucket list experience is to watch breaching, pec/tail slapping, spy-hopping, majestic Humpback whales in their natural environment; sometimes so close to the boat you could almost touch them. The guaranteed experience of a lifetime, is only available to a lucky few, for a limited time each year (July – October). This experience in Hervey Bay’s calm waters is like no other and on board Whalesong, you can relax and enjoy the entire experience whilst the friendly, experienced and COVID-19 safety trained crew look after you and your friends and family’s needs.
The longest half day cruise in Hervey Bay, includes morning tea and a buffet lunch (only 1/2 day boat to include lunch).
Whalesong is environmentally friendly, reusing and recycling where possible to minimise their carbon foot print.

Great Sandy Straits Marine Park
Located between world heritage Fraser Island and The beautiful Fraser Coast are the ever changing sands of the Great Sandy Straits Marine Park. To the enjoyment of passengers and crew, Whalesong cruise the pristine waterways of the marine park daily. The friendly crew on board the Whalesong are Whale and Dolphin Specialists who regularly find up to four varieties of dolphins, turtles, fish, birdlife, the endangered Dugong (sea cow) and whales.
The migrating Humpback Whale is an annual visitor to the Great Sandy Straits Marine Park and on occasion Killer Whales / Orcas, Minke whales and Southern Right Whales have been spotted enjoying the calm waters of Hervey Bay.

- Exit signs which are visible at a ground level (high level signs are difficult to see in a fire) are available.

Caters for people who are deaf or have hearing loss.
- Staff are trained in communicating with people who are deaf or have hearing loss.
- A low noise reception areas with hearing loss friendly acoustics and adequate lighting for viewing facial expressions (includes common areas which are free of background noise, background music) is available.
Physical – Mobility
Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids)

Physical – Wheelchair
Caters for people who use a wheelchair.
- Step free outdoor pathways (includes picnic areas, barbecues and shelters)
- A step free main entrance to the building and/or reception area (includes ramps or slopes with a maximum gradient of 1:14, otherwise are too steep for wheelchairs)
- Step free access to restaurant, lounge and bar
- Doorways which are easy to open and have lever handles (doorways 850mm or wider when open and not heavy).
- An accessible public toilet which is unlocked.
- A wheelchair accessible toilet / shower and change room is available.
- Wheelchair access to amusements and activities including boats and bush trails (includes tour rides, skyways, trolley cars, flying fox, amusement rides and boating).
- At least one wheelchair accessible parking space with wheelchair accessible signage clearly displayed (International standards are 3200mm wide x 2500 mm high).

- Modify their cooking and cleaning practices to cater for people with food allergies or chemical intolerances (could include menus with meals free from: nuts, dairy, seafood, eggs, gluten etc).
- Staff are trained to respond to allergic reactions.
- Complies with The Food Authority requirements for allergy management in food preparation.
- Toiletries which are chemical and fragrance free (if requested).

Humpback Whale Watching (July – October)
The experience of a lifetime aboard Whalesong is available to a fortunate few. Purpose-built vessel with wide decks and low passenger numbers (surveyed for 100 but only take maximum 75) provides many vantage points and space for ultimate humpback whale encounters. Offering daily half-day cruises with real-time expert commentary and the most inclusions of any half day cruise (including lunch and dinner/sunset)
K’gari (Fraser Island) West Coast Beach and BBQ Cruise (November – April)
The perfect half-day trip from Hervey Bay for all the family, friends, couples and solo travellers. Enjoy safe swimming, kayaking, fishing, playing and relaxing in the safe, clear turquoise waters and pristine white sands of a remote West Coast K’gari (formerly known as Fraser Island) beach (maximum 50 passengers). Something to do for everyone. Includes morning tea and BBQ lunch.
