Since 1987, Tangalooma Island Resort has offered Brisbane’s closest Whale Watching day cruise, plus the opportunity to enjoy island life for the day, and night if you stay longer.
Tangalooma’s Whale Watching Cruises operate from June through to the end of October, with departures available from Brisbane and Tangalooma. See these majestic humpback whales in their natural environment as part of an awe-inspiring day tour. Choose your whale watching tour inclusion on the Classic Day Cruise, Dolphin Viewing Day Cruise or Premium Dolphin Feeding Day Cruise.
All Tangalooma day cruises including whale watching offer return launch transfers, light lunch served on-board the whale watching cruise, access to resort amenities and facilities, your choice of Eco Ranger experiences, a complimentary beverage onboard the launch transfer service, and a selection of free resort activities including the daily Pelican and Seabird talk and the Kookaburra feed.
Humpback whales migrate each winter, putting on a magnificent display of breaching, tail slapping, and spy-hopping as they make their way to warmer waters. South-East Queensland is one of the best places to see these amazing creatures, with over 30,000 whales expected to pass right by Moreton Island this season.

Enjoy non-stop fun and adventure on the Premium Dolphin Feeding Day Cruise, where guests have the opportunity to hand feed one of the wild bottlenose dolphins that visit the resort each evening at dusk. A signature Tangalooma experience! Or if you’re pressed for time, enjoy a ‘Classic Day Cruise’ inclusive of a signature island tour.
