The Yankalilla Historical Museum is a must visit attraction in the Fleurieu Coast and we are constantly told by visitors it is the best rural museum in South Australia.

Exhibitions include a real church relocated from Inman Valley, an early settlers’ cottage, a blacksmith shop, a nursery shop, multiple sheds of farm machinery and much more. They have displays on the farming, mining, and maritime histories of the area as well as a range of memorabilia and photographs depicting early life in the district.

A life-size statue of a Diprotodon (giant prehistoric wombat) stands on the roadside outside the museum.

The museum is suitable for all ages and we have workbooks to keep the kids engaged.

Entry is a self guided tour, for group bookings a tour guide can be arrange upon request. Enter through the Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre.
