Grandfathers is another outstanding venue from Dan Pepperell, Mikey Clift and Andy Tyson, the team behind Pellegrino 2000. Referencing the cuisines of Guangdong and Sichuan provinces, the extensive menu is a contemporary take on Chinese cooking with plenty of familiar classics. There’s prawn toast of king prawn with almond on sourdough, mapo tofu made with shitake and tree mushrooms in place of pork and delicate steamed coral trout fillet with ginger and shallot. The moody, elegant room is exquisitely decorated in red tones with fish tanks set into the walls.
