Daylesford Town Walk starts inside the Daylesford Visitor Information Centre most Fridays and Saturday.
Tours go for 1.5 hours and cover approximately three to four kilometres of Daylesford. The pace is gentle but there are some hills. There are scheduled times however other times available by pre-arrangement – 24 hours notice usually required.
Please bring good walking shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for the season, hat, sunscreen, umbrella and in winter bring warm comfortable clothing – hat and scarf is recommended.
Price includes access to key sites and buildings on the walk plus entry to the Daylesford Museum, after the walking tour during the weekend, public and school holidays opening hours.
To maximise your enjoyment each group size is kept small with a maximum of 25 people, so bookings are essential. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier for tours to start on time.
Itinerary highlights
Daylesford Town Hall
The tour will include access to the interior of historical buildings, some spaces not usually in view to the general public.
Court House
The Police Camp is one of the oldest historical built environment’s in central Victoria and the tour includes access to the court house and gaol where you will hear stories of crime and mayhem.
Christ Church
Christ Church is the home of the Daylesford Anglican congregation who meet in the church constructed in 1862, over 150 years ago. You will have the opportunity to enter this stunning building and hear some of the tales and events and the people associated with the Church.

The stories, history and herstory will come to life as you walk through the living museum that is the town of Daylesford. Your personal independent local guide will reveal and share secrets and stories from the region’s pre-colonial, colonial and prehistoric past to the present day.
A unique and interesting excursion for all visitors and locals to gain further insight and knowledge into the Daylesford township and the untold stories of the people who have made it what it is today.
They also run Cammino di Hepburn during Spring, Summer and Autumn. The one hour walk takes in the key culture and architecture of the Swiss and Italian village now known as Hepburn Springs.
