UKARIA Cultural Centre is perched on the hillside of the Ngeringa property in the picturesque Adelaide Hills just outside Mount Barker, located just 40km from the Adelaide CBD and an easy drive on the South Eastern Freeway. Experience this concert, experience stunning music in this tranquil setting, surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards.
This performance from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra explores two American and two central European composers, combining to ask and answer questions in equal measure. Perhaps the first great American composer, Charles Ives understandably wonders what music and life are all about. Copland suggests that we should be grateful for open skies and hopeful horizons whilst Dvořák thinks that singing and dancing might be all we need. In Haydn’s Farewell Symphony, the musicians leave you to come up with your own answers!
