The foundation stone of the Albany Courthouse was laid on 29 December 1896. The Court House is a unique example of the work of that period, exhibiting masonry at its best.

The two arched entrances and doorways are a lasting memorial to Mr Trott, who was responsible for their creation.

The building continues to be the centre of justice within the Albany Region.
