Australia’s unique Annual Afro-Cuban Dance, Music and Culture Celebration.

An exciting weekend exploring the history of Cuban culture through dance and percussion workshops plus performances in the roots of salsa from Australia’s greatest Cuban dance and music artists.

Afrekete 2026 will be held for the 4th time in the Townsville LGA, the 3rd time on the beautiful island paradise of Yunbenun, Magnetic Island, home of the Wulgurukaba people.
