Smith St Bistrot is Scott Pickett’s take on a classic French bistrot with influence from Melbourne’s eclectic inner-north. Interiors with immense detail celebrate the 1888 heritage building’s history with the sentiment of a ’20s Parisienne bistrot, complete with an exposed-brick interior lined with fresh moss, antique mirrors, gothic chandeliers and scalloped banquettes. Smith St Bistrot is a venue where guests visit for casual drinks that turn into dinner, or a full French degustation du chef. The wine list hosts a mix of significant French houses and local, minimal intervention wines.
An intimate and romantic setting, the bistrot hosts sought-after banquette seating, bar seating, an outside courtyard and footpath tables, mezzanine dining up a feature wrought iron staircase, and an art deco private dining room La Vie en Rose.
