The Big Design Market is excited to be back with its ‘Almost Winter’ event which will be running this May in Melbourne at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, delivering an unparalleled way to discover the very best in independent design while luxuriating in wintery delights and cosy pleasures.
Venture through this exquisite space adorned in guest artist Xue Fei Art’s captivating designs and twinkling festoon lighting, bringing warmth and a feel-good atmosphere that is the ultimate environment in which to shop and indulge in seriously good food and drink.
Boasting over 250 independent designers from across Australia, over 70 artisanal food brands, an incredible art installation and an exciting fashion runway, Almost Winter is a delightful opportunity to indulge the senses on every level. There will be an exceptional curation of ethically made ceramics, jewellery, homewares, clothing, innovative lifestyle products, pet wares, and much more, with many new brands and exciting new product launches.
Plus there will be designer showbags, an epic visitor prize valued at over $1,200 and a fun creative play space for kids created by the talented Xue Fei Art.

Physical – Wheelchair
Caters for people who use a wheelchair.
- Step free outdoor pathways (includes picnic areas, barbecues and shelters)
- A step free main entrance to the building and/or reception area (includes ramps or slopes with a maximum gradient of 1:14, otherwise are too steep for wheelchairs)
- Doorways which are easy to open and have lever handles (doorways 850mm or wider when open and not heavy).
- An accessible public toilet which is unlocked.
- Wheelchair accessible picnic tables (picnic tables require 720mm knee clearance and 800mm maximum height).
Allergies and intolerances
Caters for people with allergies and intolerances.
- Equipment to respond to anaphylactic shock such as epi–pens and defibrillator.
