Enjoy a walk in a Southern Highlands hidden gem. A commercial exotic fungi farm is operating in a disused Victorian Era train tunnel in Mount Gibraltar Mittagong. Mycologists Leonie and Peter will guide you through the historic site and discuss all things fungi, from cooking, biology to farming. The tunnel history will also be explored, its construction, engineering and the people involved in the Great Southern Railway extension.

Hidden away in the heart of the Southern highlands is a commercial exotic mushroom farm in a disused Victorian-Era train tunnel.
Explore the Victorian Era Railway and World War II history of the site and its significance in the region. Family friendly and wheelchair accessible the site is a stunning example of railway architecture and engineering ingenuity. Mycologist farmers Leonie and Peter will guide you through fungal biology to the functions of mushrooms nutritionally and medicinally. They also provide many preparation ideas to get the most out of a gourmet mushroom experience.
