Jeannie paints the Anaty (desert yam or bush potato), with its seeds and flower

Jeannie’s distinct style for Anaty was created in 2004 for Mbantua Gallery, its captivating energy has thrust her name throughout Galleries nationwide. In 2008, Jeannie’s large Anaty painting was accepted in the 2008 NATSIAA, a prestigious Aboriginal art award in Australia.

Although initially shy, Jeannie is open, emits pride in her work and teaching elements of the bush. Her smile and laughs truly are genuine and friendly.

When younger, Jeannie lived not far from Utopia Clinic in a camp which has
been named “Jeannie’s camp” by the people there, clearly a showing of respect and leadership she has amongst others
