Experience the diversity of Queensland’s coastline on this relaxed small-group nature tour, designed for travellers who enjoy authentic wildlife encounters, beautiful scenery, and excellent photo opportunities.
After pick-up, we travel to open grasslands where mobs of Eastern Grey Kangaroos are often seen feeding in their natural environment. Early morning provides great opportunities to observe natural behaviour, sometimes with joeys visible in their mothers’ pouches. This allows you to quietly observe and photograph kangaroos in the wild.
We also visit peaceful mangrove habitats on an easy guided walk, revealing a fascinating ecosystem with waders, shorebirds, and other coastal species. These calm environments offer wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities.
At Osprey House Environmental Centre, lookouts and bird hides provide views across extensive mangrove systems. Crossing the Houghton Highway, one of Australia’s longest bridges, you can enjoy distant views of the Glasshouse Mountains.
We stop for lunch at Scarborough Boat Harbour, where you can visit relaxed seaside cafés or enjoy fresh local seafood before returning to your pick-up location.
This tour explores several natural habitats — grasslands, mangroves, wetlands, and coastline — offering a rewarding day of wildlife encounters and beautiful scenery.
