Casa Carboni, which translates to “our home”, is an Italian cooking school and enoteca in the beautiful town of Angaston in South Australia’s Barossa Valley, just under an hour’s drive from Adelaide’s CBD.
Established in 2012 by Italian chef Matteo Carboni and his Australian wife Fiona, after migrating to Australia from Emilia Romagna in northern Italy in 2011.
Matteo offers a calendar of delicious weekly cooking classes featuring the best seasonal Barossa produce to create authentic regional Italian dishes. All classes include coffee, tuition, a four-course lunch, a glass of wine and recipes.
Lunches Matteo prepares a limited daily menu with a focus on fresh pasta using local produce, such as ravioli filled with Barossa Cheese curd and spinach, tossed in melted butter, sage and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
Friday dinner, Matteo offers a chef’s choice tasting menu. Bookings are essential.
The Enoteca also offers beautiful homewares and gifts made in Australia and Europe, artisan made pantry goods and European wines hand selected by the Carboni family during their travels back to Italy each year.
