Australia’s most awarded charter yacht ‘Sydney Sundancer’ is the ideal way to enjoy Sydney Harbour.
For more than 30 years, friendly owners, Lynne and John Boyce have shared their knowledge and experience of Sydney’s wonderful waterways. Their luxury yacht combines the stability and comfort of a motorboat with the grace and serenity of a sailing yacht that is ideal for up to 50 guests. However, unique features offer small groups an enchanting experience and overnight charters are also welcome.
Private charters can be self-catering (BYO), or guests can enjoy Lynne’s superb catering – she is a published cookbook author. Sydney Sundancer’s reputation for fabulous food is amazing! Fine dining on the aft deck for up to 10 guests seated at one table, or for larger numbers, choose from a wide range of menus suitable for finger food or a buffet-style banquet.
Free photographs are included with all cruises.
Ticketed cruises are offered for special events such as Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, and Australia Day. Lynne and John’s reputation for exceeding their guests’ expectations and delivering a unique Sydney experience is unsurpassed.

Australia Day Sydney Harbour Cruise
There are two cruises on Australia Day on January 26th each year. Guests are welcome to join others to celebrate Australia Day, be in the heart of the action on Sydney Harbour and have so much fun!
Join in the spirit of Australia Day and bring your own picnic and drinks for both the day and evening cruise .
A Sydney Harbour Wedding
When the wedding ceremony is conducted aboard the yacht, the captain usually positions ‘Sydney Sundancer’ on Sydney Harbour immediately in front of the Opera House, so that its two giant arches form a massive ‘Cathedral’ behind the Bride and Groom. All guests have a clear view and can really feel part of the ceremony. For those wanting a budget wedding venue, the yacht can be chartered for a one-hour wedding ceremony only. The wedding ceremony will be conducted immediately in front of the Opera House.

John and Lynne have introduced a ‘one-stop package’, where they take the burden from your shoulders leaving all the arrangements in their capable hands. The reception, meal and drinks are ‘tailor made’ according to the Bride and groom’s wishes. They also offer a unique wedding package which includes optional overnight accommodation and champagne breakfast, served aboard the following morning. Thus, ‘Sydney Sundancer’ becomes your own private luxury floating hotel for your wedding evening.
A Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race Start – Harbour Cruise
Boxing Day is the best day of the year to cruise Sydney Harbour because of the colourful start of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, the Southern Hemisphere’s most prestigious yacht race!
It takes all John’s skills, as a former yacht racing champion, with more than 30 years experience, to position Sydney Sundancer right on the start line so you will have a clear uninterrupted view of the competing racing yachts as the starting gun is fired.
Then, as the armada of spectator craft surges forward, John maintains this exclusive position alongside the racing yachts so that all guests aboard Sydney Sundancer appreciate and almost become, part of the action and experience this thrilling event!
All this, plus a delicious buffet meal, drinks served throughout the cruise, plus live entertainment, provides an unforgettable day.
A New Years Eve Sydney Harbour Cruise
Each year Australia’s pyrotechnic professionals improve their performance, and from Sydney Sundancer’s expansive decks, you will gain an uninterrupted view of all the evenings activities. You will enjoy a fabulous gourmet meal accompanied by Bollinger champagne and the finest wines served all evening by an attentive crew.
With a maximum of 50 guests (even though Sydney Sundancer is licensed to carry more than 70 passengers plus crew), you will join a select group and enjoy a party atmosphere second to none! Whether you are a couple or with a group, rest assured you will be made to feel very welcome by friendly hosts Lynne and John Boyce, so that when midnight arrives, you will feel you are celebrating with friends.
