Etta is a treasured neighbourhood restaurant celebrating Melbourne’s rich culinary fabric. Located in the inner-city suburb of Brunswick East, the venue is celebrated for its showstopping seasonal cuisine, exceptional Australian wines and owner Hannah Green’s signature style of service.
Green is the winner of the 2024 Good Food Guide Service Excellence Award and a local hospitality veteran. She imbues the guest experience with a familial warmth that’s earned her an industry-wide reputation as a laser-guided ray of sunshine.
A former fish-and-chip shop, Etta’s elegant dining room features a timeless palette of marble, burgundy and bottle green, anchored by an open kitchen and woodfired hearth.
Chef Lorcán Kan combines his European fine dining training with traditional Asian cooking techniques and flavours inspired by his Chinese-Malaysian (Baba–Nyonya) heritage. Sustainability and seasonality drive this approach, as does a pantry of house-made soy sauces, misos and jangs that infuse each dish with incredible depth.
A diverse 250-bottle wine list pays due attention to small producers, showcasing leading Victorian and Australian winemakers alongside hand-selected European pours.
Etta has featured in The World’s 50 Best Discovery and Delicious 100, was named 2023 Victorian Restaurant of the Year by Gourmet Traveller, and has held a Good Food Guide Hat since 2019.
