Perched on the cool slopes of Mount Macedon, Forest Glade Gardens is one of Victoria’s most beautiful year-round garden destinations. Sweeping lawns, mature exotic trees, vibrant flower borders and peaceful fern gullies create a landscape that changes with every season. Autumn is especially spectacular, with maples, birches and beeches glowing in rich reds, golds and amber.
Originally orchards and grazing land, the gardens were transformed from the 1940s into the established landscape enjoyed today. After the Ash Wednesday bushfires of 1983, Forest Glade was carefully restored and continues to thrive as a much-loved public garden.
Open daily with last entry at 4:30 PM, Forest Glade welcomes visitors from across Australia and around the world. Combined garden and Stokes Collection tours are available. Small picnics are welcome, and dogs on leash may accompany you.
There is no on-site parking, street parking is available nearby. The gardens are closed on days of Total Fire Ban.
