As you continue onto the river, you’ll witness the sunset lighting up the magnificent Bookpurnong Cliffs , and the full moon rising over the water.. You’ll stop for a cup of tea or coffee near the cliffs before donning head torches to drift along, enjoying the stars and water reflections. Itinerary highlights

Bookpurnong Cliffs

The magnificent sandstone Bookpurnong Cliffs, catching the colours of the setting sun, are the backdrop to your beverage break and snack of local dried fruits.

Ajax Achilles Wetlands

Named for the historic barge wrecks on the shoreline, these wetlands are a generous home for a variety of bird species, including pelicans and cormorants, and the narrow winding creeks are a delight to paddle.

Murray River

The mighty Murray River is part of the Murray Darling Basin whose catchment drains 14% of mainland Australia. Our part of the river is characterized by towering limestone cliffs, wetland lakes, and backwater anabranch creeks, home to a wide variety of waterbirds, kangaroos, possums and rakali. Being in a less-populated area, we often have the river all to ourselves on these tours.
