According to the queues, Hansang is the most popular Korean restaurant in Sydney and the Haymarket branch is its second opening after the popular Strathfield restaurant. Like the original, the menu is tome-like in length and diversity, covering everything from drinking food to home-style rice bowls with chestnuts and beans.

The specialty is the soups (you’ll see the huge cauldrons boiling away when you enter), both ox and beef bone broths filled with either sundae (blood sausage with rice noodles inside), beef ribs or brisket. Although much smaller than its Strathfield sibling, the servings here are still on the large end, so unless you’re getting a soup or bibimbap for one, come with friends.
