Longreach Caravan Park – Outback Space, Sunsets & True Country Hospitality

Set in a quiet location just a 10-minute walk from the heart of town, Longreach Caravan Park offers a relaxed outback stay with room to unwind and a genuine sense of community. Proudly family-owned, the park provides a warm welcome to travellers seeking comfort, connection, and convenience.

Accommodation options include powered and unpowered sites set among shady, grassed areas, along with affordable budget-style cabins sleeping 1–4 guests. For families or groups, a standalone cottage accommodating up to 8 guests offers extra space and privacy.

The park is pet-friendly (dogs on leashes for caravans and outside cabins), within easy strolling distance of town, and conveniently located on the pick-up route for all local tour operators.

Adjacent to the Longreach Town Common, an expansive stretch of open outback country covering approximately 6,500 hectares (16,000 acres), the park enjoys sweeping western views and spectacular sunsets.

Three self-guided walking loops invite guests to explore the surrounding landscape, from gidgee woodlands to views of the Thomson River, with regular wildlife sightings including red kangaroos and a variety of birdlife.

A guest favourite is the daily afternoon “smoko”, where travellers gather for a cuppa, cold beer or wine, and the chance to share stories and make new friends — a simple pleasure that captures the true spirit of the outback.
