All their yacht charters include a professional and friendly crew to ensure you get the most out of your voyage. All cruises include the best of fresh Tasmanian food and local wines and beer are available at regular bar prices.

At 62 feet, Helsal IV is one of the largest yachts to race in the Tasmanian sailing fleet. A veteran of three Sydney to Hobart Yacht Races, she has the body of an ocean racer and the living quarters of a luxury cruiser; thrills and comfort go hand in hand with experiences that will stay with you a lifetime.

Sail past 300 meter high sea cliffs and spectacular rock formations, Australian fur seal colonies, secluded beaches where dense eucalypt forests grow down to the shore, and overnight in iconic locations like Port Arthur, Wineglass Bay and Maria Island. Settle into your private cabin aboard a magnificent 62-foot ocean racer/cruiser, with its highly qualified and experienced crew, and prepare for an adventure you will cherish for a lifetime.

These charters usually take between three and seven-days, and like all our cruises, they can be customised to suit your requirements.

Indulge in activities like swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, hiking or walking along the white sands of deserted beaches. You won’t believe the absolutely jaw-dropping scenery – all the while being catered for with the best of Tasmanian fare. Take the helm, work the winches or learn about navigation; the experienced crew love to show you the ropes. Or sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of one of the most beautiful coastal regions in the world.

Port Davey Expedition

For the memory of a lifetime, book on one of our yacht charters to Port Davey on Tasmania’s rugged west coast. Port Davey is a Marine Reserve and part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and the South West National Park.

They are usually seven-day/six-night trips, but like all our journeys, they can be customised to suit your requirements. We stop over in Recherche Bay for the first night then make our way around the Southern tip of Tasmania, sailing past the Maatsuyker Island group to the vast pristine waterways of Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour.

It is impossible to describe just how unique and exciting this vast and spectacular wilderness destination is. Bushwalking in the World Heritage National Park, isolated surf breaks, endless sheltered bays and inlets to explore by kayak and a coastline as awe-inspiring as any you can imagine; the Port Davey region abounds with seafood for divers and fishermen.

We do these trips as private charters for up to 6 people. Our professional crew includes skipper, cook and onshore guide.

Hobart Sailing Experience

Three-hour morning and afternoon cruise (twilight in summer) on the wonderful River Derwent. The charter involves sailing onboard the magnificent 62′ Sydney to Hobart race veteran, Helsal IV, one of the largest and most beautiful natural harbours in the world, with spectacular views of Hobart and Mt Wellington.

The best Tasmanian fare will be provided as refreshments along with tea, coffee, water and non-alcoholic beverages. A selection of fine Tasmanian wine and beer is available at our cash bar – and at regular bar prices.

Departing from the Hobart docks, seven days a week when not on extended charters. Maximum of 20 passengers per yacht.

Bruny Island Experience

Bruny Island Experience

This eight hour Private Charters will take you to a sheltered bay on the idyllic Bruny Island. You may see penguins, seals, dolphins and sometimes even whales and orca.

As well as the thrill of sailing, you can enjoy some fishing, swimming, snorkelling – whatever takes your fancy – and the best Tasmanian fare will be served for lunch, morning and afternoon tea.

Tea, coffee, water and non-alcoholic beverages are provided throughout the day, and a selection of fine Tasmanian wines and beer are served with lunch. Maximum of 10 passengers per yacht.

Twilight Races

Twilight Races

Be a part of the crew (as active as you want to be) in a real yacht race onboard a Sydney to Hobart race veteran, Helsal IV. Twilight yacht racing on the River Derwent are a magnificent tradition in Hobart; be a part of it and get your heart racing too.

The races take place each Thursday, commencing in mid October and ending mid December. Dates are available on our website.
Helsal IV leaves King’s Pier Marina at 5:15pm and returns at approximately 7:30pm.

Twilight Dinner Cruise

Twilight Dinner Cruise

Because these cruises are private charters we can customise them to suit your needs. We can take up to eight passengers. Sailing on the beautiful expansive Hobart harbour at twilight is an experience not to be missed. Views of the sparkling city with its rolling hills and magnificent mountain backdrop are breathtaking in the twilight. We will anchor in a sheltered bay where you will be served a wonderful meal of the best Tasmanian food accompanied by our famous wines and beer, or whatever takes your fancy.

The evening typically runs like this:
You will be greeted onboard with a glass of sparkling Tasmanian wine or beer along with freshly shucked Tasmanian oysters or canapès before sailing off to explore the beautiful sites of the harbour and making our way to our anchorage. We will nestle into one of the many sheltered bays on the harbour and serve up a meal from our galley. Only the best local produce will be used and accompanied by our great Tasmanian wines and beer, or your choice of drink. The meal can either be served below deck in our large saloon or under shelter on our cockpit table – your choice.

Overnight Adventure

This private charter combines the pleasure of two full days sailing, adventure and exploration with an overnight stay in luxury cabins. The charter allows for up to 6 passengers. The best of Tasmanian fare is provided for all meals and refreshments. Tea, coffee, water and non-alcoholic beverages are provided throughout the day. A selection of fine Tasmanian wines and beer are included in the evening meal and available from the cash bar at other times, at regular bar prices.

The overnight anchorage will depend on the weather and the kind of daytime activities you wish to enjoy. You may see dolphins, seals and sometimes whales and orca.

Activities can include swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, bushwalking, touring convict ruins, or just lazing about on the deck or strolling along one of the many brilliant white sandy beaches (just let us know what activities you prefer before we go), not to mention the thrill of sailing itself!

We typically overnight at either Port Arthur, Bruny Island or Recherche Bay. All of these destinations are either in or on the edge of world class National Parks.
