Combining the best bounty from Tasmania’s growers, farmers and makers, at Tesoro they take great produce, great technique and great service to showcase the real art of Italian cuisine.
In true Italian style, they value humble, uncomplicated food; delicious, punchy flavour; quality, local produce, low food miles and low food waste. They’ve become amici with the artisans, mingled with the makers and gathered with the growers to find just what they need to bring the menu to life.
The result? A menu that’s evocative, emotional and passionate. Just like Italians themselves. Buon appetite.

Cheese Wheel Pasta in Hobart
Try the next hottest dish on Hobart’s dining scene. At this tableside experience, watch as one of Tesoro’s experienced chefs finish fresh house-made linguini in a 25 kilogram wheel of Italian Pecorino Romano. First, the chefs flambé the cheese wheel, then fresh pasta and black pepper are added and tossed together to create the perfect cacio e pepe. Cheese, pasta and flames – it’s the perfect recipe for a great night out.
Pinot and pasta
This winter, Tesoro modern Italian brings together two local treasures: iconic Tassie pinot and comforting house-made pasta. Rotating monthly, the kitchen hand-crafts a winter pasta special and pairs it with a local pinot – a rich, warming duo made for Hobart’s cosy winter evenings.
