Nilpena Ediacara National Park
Nilpena is now recognised as the richest and most diverse Ediacaran fossil site on Earth and
has revolutionised our understanding of this remarkable time in Earth’s history. Nilpena has
a diversity of over 40 species recorded in the sediments of its ancient seafloors, and
palaeontologists are revealing fascinating evidence about how these strange and cryptic
early creatures lived, reproduced, and even hunted.
Wilson's Promontory – Nine Day Tour
Departing Adelaide in a comfortable four-wheel drive vehicle, we take the South Eastern Freeway through the Adelaide Hills to Tailem Bend, Bordertown and Horsham. Overnight Grampians National Park before heading to Dunkeld and the Corangamite towns of Penshurst, Mortlake and Colac.
Board the Queenscliff Ferry for a 40 minute crossing to Sorrento. Travel up the Mornington Peninsula through Leongatha to Foster – (our base for three nights).
Full day trips include:
Wilson’s Promontory- with attractions Whisky Beach, Squeaky Beach, Loo- Ern Track, Tidal River, Mount Oberon.
South Gippsland – visiting Fish Creek, Walkerville, Waratah Bay and Cape Liptrap. Scenic drive through Tarwin Lower, Venus Bay and Inverloch, including 12 kilometre coastal section through Bunurong Marine Park.
Strzelecki Ranges – visiting Agnes Falls, Tarra Bulga National Park, and The Grand Ridge Road, returning through coastal towns of Yarram, Alberton, Welshpool and Toora.
Leaving Meeniyan, we head to Torquay and The Great Ocean Road with accommodation at Skenes Creek. Visit Port Campbell National Park (12 Apostles) and other attractions next day on the travel though Warrnambool, Portland and Nelson to Mount Gambier.
The return to Adelaide is via the Coorong, visiting Beachport, Robe, and Kingston.
Head of Bight and Eyre Peninsula
Leaving Adelaide, head north along Spencer Gulf through Port Wakefield to Port Augusta at the head of the Gulf then down the western side through Whyalla to Cowell, a town recognised for its Jade. An overnight stop in Tumby Bay provides a good departure point next day as we take the White River Road through Poonindie to Port Lincoln.
The scenic Whalers Way provides some spectacular coastline views, cliffs, blowholes, crevasses and beaches!
Drive through Coffin Bay National Park next day and taste of oysters, before heading up the West Coast to Elliston, The Talia Caves, Murphy’s Haystacks and the Seal Colony at Point Labatt. Overnight at Streaky Bay then next day to Ceduna and an interesting detour to Cactus Beach and Fowlers Bay, rejoining the highway at Yalata. The Head of Bight Visitor Centre is a short distance further and is one of the best places to see the Southern Right Whales.
The coastline is spectacular, and take time next morning to inspect the Bunda Cliffs before heading south to Penong and Ceduna via Denial Bay.
Return is through Minnipa and the Gawler Ranges National Park to Iron Knob, Port Augusta and Melrose.
Flinders Ranges and Sky Trek – Four Day Tour
Depart Adelaide travelling in a comfortable Toyota Landcruiser four wheel drive vehicle.
Pass through Melrose and Wilmington to Alligator Gorge with great views of the ranges. Hancock’s Lookout with views over Spencer Gulf. Travel to Quorn and circuit road to Warren Gorge, Proby’s Grave and Simmonston, joining main road to Hawker and overnight Hawker. Visit Old Wilpena Homestead, Hucks and Stokes lookouts on the way to Willow Springs Station.
There are 40 designated points of interest on this property, and this forms the basis of ‘Sky Trek’, a six hour four wheel drive adventure which culminates in breathtaking views of the eastern side of Wilpena Pound from Upalinna Lookout. We take a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery.
Travel through Wilpena to Bunyeroo Valley and Brachina Gorge to Blinman before taking the scenic gorge road to Parachilna. A short distance past Parachilna is the Moralana Scenic Route, which travels between the Elder Range and Wilpena Pound. This is part of Arkaba Station.
Return through Melrose and the Bridle Track with stunning views of Gulf St Vincent.

Birdsville and Innamincka – Nine Day Tour
The history of The Birdsville Track comes to life as we leave Marree and head north through Stations including Lake Harry, Clayton, Dulkaninna, Etadunna, Mulka, to Mungerannie and an overnight stop!
Continuing on the Track next day, we stop at Mitta Mitta to view a free flowing artesian bore, then through Clifton Hills and Sturt’s Stony Desert, Pandie Pandie, to Birdsville.
Attractions include The Waddi Trees “Dingo Caves”, old causeway and Pelican Point. Then take an afternoon drive to “Big Red” (Nappanerica Sandune).
Depending on road conditions our travel to Innamincka is via either Cordillo Downs, Arrabury Road or Walkers Crossing.
A loop road through the Innamincka Mesa to Nappa Merrie brings us to Burke and Will’s Camp LXV and the Dig Tree. We return to Innamincka via the Burke and Wills Bridge, visiting Burke’s Marker, and Cullyamurra waterhole. A drive along 15 Mile Track to Kings and Wills Markers completes the history and culture of the Burke and Wills Expedition.
Leaving Innamincka we journey through Cameron Corner and Sturt National Park to Tibooburra, and Milparinka, taking a detour to visit Sturt’s Depot Glen before continuing on the Silver City Highway to Broken Hill and Adelaide.
William Creek and Painted Desert – Nine Day Tour
William Creek and Coober Pedy nine day tour exploring the remote outback of South Australia, travelling in a comfortable Toyota Landcruiser four wheel drive vehicle. This is a comfortable adventure tour that includes – Marree, the Oodnadatta Track, Lake Eyre, William Creek, Coober Pedy and Woomera. Tour explores the Mound Springs area (part of the Great Artesian Basin) see underground opal mining, tour the magnificent Breakaway country and visit Australia’s first and only rocket launching town. Lake Eyre – Three Day Tour
Here is an opportunity to see Lake Eyre from the air!
This tour is designed for those wishing to just see Lake Eyre without the cost of add-ons to the itinerary. The package price includes a one and a half hour flight over the lake.
Depart Adelaide travelling in a comfortable Toyota Landcruiser four wheel drive vehicle. Pass through the Clare Valley to Melrose, Wilmington, Hawker and Leigh Creek to overnight stop at Copley.
Travel to Lyndhurst and then to Marree in time for an hour and a half flight over Lake Eyre. A totally captivating flight that will return you both visually impacted and educationally enriched. Following the flight we head up the Oodnadatta Track to the Wabma Kardarbu Mound Springs Conservation Park and Coward Springs before returning to Marree for an overnight stop.
There is an opportunity to look around the town of Marree before our return through Farina (an abandoned township on the Oodnadatta Track being restored through a community group) and the Ochre Cliffs
Leaving Copley we travel to Hawker, Orroroo, Terowie and Burra then through the Gilbert Valley to Adelaide.

Birdsville and Windorah – Nine Day Tour
The history of The Birdsville Track comes to life as we leave Marree and head north through Stations including Lake Harry, Clayton, Dulkaninna, Etadunna, Mulka, to Mungerannie and an overnight stop!
Continuing on the Track next day, we stop at Mitta Mitta to view a free flowing artesian bore, then through Clifton Hills and Sturts Stony Desert, Pandie Pandie, to Birdsville.
Attractions here include The Birdsville Working Museum, Waddi Trees “Dingo Caves”, old causeway and Pelican Point. We take an afternoon drive to “Big Red” (Nappanerica Sandune).
Leaving Birdsville we head east on The Diamantina Development Road to Betoota and Windorah, at the start of The Cooper Creek. A little south of Windorah is Thyrulga, and the homestead of “Kings in Grass Castles” fame. A journey of discovery as we take the ‘Dowling Track” and visit Toompine Roadhouse (The pub without a town!). The Track continues through Hungerford and Ford’s Bridge to Bourke.
Interest next day as we travel the “Darling River Run” – one of Australia’s great outback experiences, through Louth and Tilpa to Wilcannia then Broken Hill.
The “Eastern Road” takes us through the Stations of Harriedale, Loch Lilly and Quandong to Burra and Adelaide.
Flinders Ranges and Outback 9 Day Tour
Depart Adelaide, travelling in a comfortable Toyota Landcruiser four-wheel drive vehicle, through the mid-north towns of Clare and Quorn to Hawker in the heart of the Flinders Ranges.
The scenic Bunyeroo Valley and Brachina Gorge provide breathtaking views as we head to Blinman on our way to the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary and some of the oldest landscape on earth.
Leaving Arkaroola, we drive through the Gammon Ranges to Copley, then north to Marree at the junction of the Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks.
Passing through one of Australia’s most fascinating and diverse regions, the Oodnadatta Track closely follows a major Aboriginal trade route, the original Overland Telegraph Line and the old Ghan railway line. Visit Blanche Cup and The Bubbler, part of the Great Artesian Basin.
Coober Pedy is the Opal Capital of the World, and the town is our base for a day trip to The Painted Desert. an area of spectacularly coloured land formations featuring mesas, buttes, tent hills and cliffs caused by erosion of an ancient land surface.
The colours come from pyritic sediments deposited in the soil millions of years ago.
You’ll take the Stuart Highway to Woomera and return to Adelaide through Port Augusta.
Flinders Ranges and Arkaroola – Five Day Tour
Depart Adelaide travelling in a comfortable Toyota Landcruiser four wheel drive vehicle.
Pass through Melrose, Quorn and Hawker to an overnight stop at Hawker. Explore this rugged and picturesque country as the tour heads north through the Flinders Ranges National Park to Stokes Hill Lookout, Bunyeroo Valley and Brachina Gorge then past the Great Wall of China before arriving at the Old Copper Mining town of Blinman. Crossing into the Gammon Ranges travel further north through Balcanoona to Arkaroola Village. Experience the Ridge Top Tour and local attractions including Bolla Bollana, The Pinnacles, and Arkaroola Waterhole. Return route travels through Italowie Gorge, Nepabunna and Copley to Hawker, returning to Adelaide via Kanyaka Ruins, Cradock, Orroroo and Jamestown.

Mungo National Park – Five Day Tour
Depart Adelaide travelling in a comfortable Toyota Landcruiser four wheel drive vehicle.
Drive through the Riverland towns of Blanchetown, Berri, Barmera and Renmark. Cross the Victorian border to Lake Cullulleraine and Mildura, then over the Murray/Darling rivers to Mildura.
Enjoy a full day exploring Mungo National Park. The park is part of the Willandra Lakes World Heritage area, Mungo National Park being at its centre. Explore the park and visit the Mungo Woolshed, the Walls of China, the ‘Grand Canyon’ and the ruins of Zanci Station.
We have an overnight stay at Mungo Lodge.
Visit the Inland Botanic Gardens Buronga before a paddle steamer cruise through Lock 11.
Other Mildura attractions include Pysche Bend Pumping Station, Rio Vista House, and Orange World
plus the Murray/Darling confluence, Perry Sandhills and Junction Island Nature Reserve at Wentworth.
Return home through Renmark, but this time take a back road to Lake Victoria and Rufus River, passing the state border to Cal Lal and Rotten Lake. Travel the Sturt Highway to Berri, then detour through Loxton to Swan Reach, Walker Flat, Mount Pleasant and Gumeracha to Birdwood.

The Sapphire Coast – Eight Day Tour
Travel through the south-eastern towns of Tailem Bend and Meningie on Lake Albert. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Coorong National Park, then on to Millicent, Mount Gambier, Nelson and Portland – on the shipwreck coast.
Magnificent scenery awaits along the Great Ocean Road, including London Bridge, Loch Ard, The Twelve Apostles. Climb in the Otway Ranges and experience the ‘Otway Fly’ – a tree top walk in the Otways Rainforest!
Back on the coast, travel through Lorne, Anglesea and Torquay to the ferry at Queenscliffe which crosses southern Port Phillip Bay to Sorrento. Travel up the Mornington Peninsula and on to Morwell and Lakes Entrance. Meet the Snowy River at Orbost and visit Mallacoota Inlet before arriving in Eden, on Twofold Bay.
Explore the coastal towns of Pambula, Merimbula and Bega.
Return is through Victorian coastal towns, including Port Albert and Welshpool to Meeniyan in South Gippsland. Explore the rich volcanic plains around Mortlake, Camperdown and Penshurst. A change of scenery as you travel back to Adelaide through the south-eastern South Australia wine growing district of Padthaway and Coonawarra.

Legendary Longreach and Winton
Travel The Strzelecki Track to Innamincka and a day to visiting sites significant to the Burke and Wills Expedition. Next day to Windorah – and the Thomson and Barcoo which form the Cooper Creek.
Heading north, we visit Lark Quarry Conservation Park and Winton, birthplace of “Waltzing Matilda”.
Continue to Longreach, The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre and Qantas Founders Outback Museum. Sunset dinner cruise on the Thomson River.
Visit Barcaldine, Tree of Knowledge, before heading to Blackall where we find the only fully intact steam-powered wool washing plant left in Australia.
At Cunnumulla we meet the Adventure Way Eulo,then Hungerford via the Currawinya National Park.
Crossing the New South Wales Border and Dingo Fence, we are on the Dowling Track – passing through Yantabulla and Ford’s Bridge, then North Bourke.
A day in Bourke to discover the Exhibition Centre, a drive to Mount Oxley and a cruise on the Darling River aboard the replica paddle steamer the Jandra.
“The Darling River ” takes us through Louth and Tilpa to Wilcannia and the highway to Broken Hill.
We head south of Broken Hill through the Stations of Harriedale, Loch Lilly and Quandong to Burra and Adelaide.
Yorke Peninsula – Hit the Trail Four Day Tour

The history, combined with the cultural contrasts of farming, mining, fishing and wine growing is drawn together in a relaxing informative and scenic experience. Gawler Ranges – Five Day Tour
Travel along Highway One through the towns of Port Wakefield, and Port Germein to Port Augusta for lunch at the Wadlata Café. before continuing through Iron Knob, and Kimba to Wudinna on Eyre Peninsula.
There is a day trip within the Gawler Ranges National Park, visiting Old Paney Homestead, Kolay Mirica Falls (Organ Pipe Formation) , Kolay Hut and the Old Paney Shearing Shed. Leaving the Park on the Barnes Road to Wudinna, and Mt Wudinna, Polda Rock and The Australian Farmer Granite Sculpture.
A short detour on leaving Minnipa to Pildappa Rock ( South Australia’s “wave rock”) and Tcharkulda Rock before heading to Mt Ive Station in the heart of the Gawler Ranges.
We call in to the Tourist Resort to pick up an access key to Lake Gairdner then visit the third largest salt lake in Australia! Heading east, we pass the sheep stations of Kolendo, Nonning, Siam and Corunna to Iron Knob where the Eyre Highway leads to Port Augusta.
Return is via Horrocks Pass to Wilmington and Melrose in the Southern Flinders Ranges, then home to Adelaide through Ororroo, Burra and the Gilbert Valley
Coongie Lakes
Travel is via the Flinders Ranges towns of Melrose, Wilmington and Quorn to Hawker – The Gateway to The Flinders, where we continue north through Parachilna to an overnight stay at Copley. The legendary Strzelecki Track passes through the Cobbler Desert and Montecollina Bore our lunch stop. Depending on road conditions we follow either the Old Strzelecki Track past Nappacoongie, or the main Track past Moomba to Innamincka.
Next day we take the 110 kilometre Coongie Lakes Track which closely follows the north arm of Cooper Creek, and skirts treeless grey clay pans, floodplains and dunes. 80 kilometres from Innamincka is Kudriemitchie Outstation, once used to accommodate mustering parties working from the main homestead at Innamincka. The building has been renovated and is an ideal stop for morning tea! A little further we come to Coongie Lakes – a remarkable semi permanent lake system which is high in ecological value, and supports a large number of water birds.
Another day trip is to Camp LXV “The Dig Tree”, and highlights on our return to Adelaide include Cameron Corner, Milparinka (including Depot Glen) , Tibooburra, Sturt National Park and Broken Hill.
Tumby Bay and Lower Eyre Peninsula
Diverse scenery of rolling farmlands, spectacular ocean views and some of the prettiest coastal townships in South Australia. South of Port Lincoln, Sleaford Bay and Whalers Way provide perfect opportunity to view the rugged coastline at the foot of the Peninsula and Coffin Bay National Park is noted for it’s remote coastal scenery, bays and coastline.
This contrasts with our return to Adelaide, through farming communities of Cleve, Kimba and Iron Knob.
The Back O'Bourke
Follow an old pastoral route from Burra through Quandong, Loch Lilly and Harriedale Stations to Broken Hill. Next day visit Mutawintji National Park enroute to the opal mining town of White Cliffs.
One of the legends of outback New South Wales is The Darling River Run – a track over 300 kilometres running alongside the Darling River, from Wilcannia to Bourke. The track takes us through the tiny townships of Tilpa and Louth to Bourke.
Our accommodation in Bourke is at the Bourke Bridge Inn – 5 kms from town and offering beautiful award-winning gardens, sparkling pool and comfortable rooms with countryside allure.
A day of sightseeing next as we visit the Bourke Exhibition Centre, historic Cemetery and drive to Mount Oxley where there are magnificent views and wedge-tailed eagles.
Leaving Bourke we travel to Brewarrina and Goodooga to Lightning Ridge – a town renowned for its beautiful black opal. Take time to look around the town before heading next day to the Warrambungle National Park and Gilgandra.
After an overnight stop in Cobar, travel through Black Stump country to Ivanhoe Hatfield and Balranald.
Return to Adelaide is through Mildura and the Riverland.
