Commando Skydivers was established in 1961 and is Victoria’s longest-continuous operating skydiving club. During that time the club has taught thousands of skydivers, performed tens of thousands of parachute drops and even trained several Australian and world champions.

Tandem Skydiving

Tandem Skydiving

Tandem skydiving is a great way to experience the thrill of a 200 kilometres/ hour freefall and create a memory which will last a lifetime. Skydiving in Gippsland is the ultimate adrenaline rush that will keep you grinning from ear to ear for weeks to come.

Upon arrival at the drop zone, you will meet your tandem skydiving instructor and be given a safety briefing to cover all the important aspects of your skydive.

From there it’s straight onto the plane for a scenic flight to altitude over Latrobe Valley with panoramic views of Mt Buller and Mt Baw Baw across to Wilsons Promontory.

Freefall – words can’t describe it. You’ll be flying towards the planet at over, freefalling for up to 60 seconds.

Your tandem master will deploy the main parachute and may give you a chance to fly the parachute as you gracefully steer your way down to a smooth landing.

Your video will be prepared for you straight after your skydive, giving your friends and family the chance to share your amazing experience.

Solo Skydive First Jump Course

Solo Skydive First Jump Course

This two day training course covers everything you need to know, includes equipment, aircraft hire and your first jump.

Day 1: Meet your course instructor who is a highly experienced and accredited person within the Australian Parachute Federation and will cover a broad range of topics to make your jump as safe and memorable as possible. Classroom lessons will be required of you as well as practical work covering safety and what to do whilst in exiting the aircraft, under canopy and landing. You will be required to sit a multiple choice exam before covering some of your requirements for your first jump sequence that will be take place on the second day.

Day Two: Once your exam and ground training have the tick of approval, you will gear up for your first solo skydive! After a final run through and checks we go and parachute.

The first four jumps on this program use an Instructor Aided Deployment (IAD) method, before moving on to opening and flying the parachute yourself.

Once you’ve completed the nine stages of the Solo Jump course, you will have your “A” licence and you’ll be ready to enjoy the exciting new world of skydiving.

Accelerated Freefall (AFF) First Jump Course

Accelerated Freefall (AFF) First Jump Course

The two day training course will be your launch-pad to your first skydive where you’ll go straight to 10,000 feet with two instructors beside you to make sure you enjoy your first skydive experience safely.

Day one: Meet your course instructor who is a highly experienced and accredited person within the Australian Parachute Federation and will cover a broad range of topics to make your jump as safe and memorable as possible. Classroom lessons will be required of you as well as practical work covering safety and what to do whilst in exiting the aircraft, under canopy and landing.

Day two: Once your exam has the tick of approval we move into some additional ground training from which point you will be introduced to the AFF instructors that will be accompanying you on your jump. After a final run through and checks, we go and skydive.

The AFF training method has nine stages with each jump teaching you more skills on how to fly your body through the air. You’re in charge of the parachute ride too as you fly your parachute under the guidance of an instructor to landing.
