Since August 2024, Hobart Zoo and Aquarium has been under dynamic new ownership, bringing a bold and ambitious vision to life. With a focus on animal welfare, guest experience, sustainability and community inclusion, the zoo is evolving into a world-class destination like never before.

Guests can hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies, meet wombats, curious emus and barnyard favourites like miniature Highland Cows. Explore the walk-in aviary, with bird feeding at 10am and 1pm, and enjoy daily keeper talks and interactive animal experiences.

Backed by a passionate team led by Life Sciences Manager Mandy Prestage and bold future plans, Hobart Zoo and Aquarium is becoming much more than a zoo—it’s a place for connection, learning and fun for all ages.
