Their Scar Tree Walk is a cultural journey that connects traditional and contemporary Aboriginal cultures and the histories of the local Kulin Peoples.

Led by one of their experienced Koorie Guides, the gentle walk begins at the Koorie Heritage Trust and meanders through the Birrarung Wilam (Common Ground) Aboriginal art installations that will provide a background to what you will experience on the walk. The walk continues over the William Barak Bridge that crosses Batman Avenue, where you will learn the history of these two significant figures who have shaped the history of Melbourne for both the local Aboriginal peoples and settlers.

Once over the bridge, you will enter a traditional Kulin Nation meeting place thousands of years old that has become a significant contemporary meeting place for all Melbournians and Victorians today. Here you will learn of the continuing local Aboriginal culture in the setting of major sporting events at the MCG before finishing at the Scar Trees, a protected cultural heritage site.
