Southport Yacht Club’s Oxenford Watersports Centre offers School Holiday Sailing programs throughout all Queensland school holiday periods. Designed for children aged 7 to 17, the program provides a safe and engaging introduction to sailing on the calm freshwater lake at Damian Leeding Memorial Park. Each session is delivered by qualified instructors and focuses on developing water confidence, learning sailing skills and enjoying outdoor activities.

Participants can choose from half-day or full-day sessions, with all equipment and lifejackets supplied. The program is suitable for complete beginners as well as returning young sailors looking to continue building their skills. Activities include on-water sailing, rigging and pack-up, teamwork and supervised lake-based games tailored to weather and ability.

School Holiday Sailing runs Monday to Friday during each holiday period, offering flexible options for families. Full-day sessions operate from 9am to 3pm, with morning and afternoon sessions also available. Multi-day and group booking options provide additional value for families or groups of friends.

Located at the Oxenford Watersports Centre, the venue features easy lake access, shaded areas for parents and a welcoming environment ideal for children looking to try a new activity. The program is offered across summer, autumn, winter and spring school holidays.
