Flinders Lane Gallery is delighted to present For those who came in late, the new solo exhibition by Australian/Abu Dhabi artist Lucy Ray. Marking Ray’s debut solo exhibition with the gallery, this highly anticipated body of work continues her finely observed exploration of ambiguity, nostalgia and the uncanny.
Drawing from reconstructed memories of places she has inhabited or travelled through, Ray creates scenes that feel at once familiar and unsettled. Roadsides, motel signs, domestic objects, shadowy figures and out-of-place animals appear within strangely suspended environments, each becoming a fragment of a larger narrative that remains unresolved and psychologically charged.
