The Winter Wetlands is a small, private, sanctuary, opposite the Kuitpo Forest. At its best in the Winter months when the wetlands come to life, guests can enjoy the company of the resident Western Grey kangaroo, many possums (both ring-tail and brush-tail), native burrowing rats, and a plethora of birdlife including favourites such as blue wrens, fairy wrens, and a resident family of chuffs. Guests also enjoy kicking back around the campfire overlooking the dam, as they listen to the crickets and frogs in the evenings.
The Winter Wetlands isnot a ‘caravan park’. It is only suitable for Motorhomes or Campervans, 7.5m long, with their own toilet and grey water. Not suitable for caravans, trailers or tents.
The venue is situated close to Kuitpo Forest, McLaren vale wine region, TreeClimb (Kuitpo), Echunga Goldfields, Historic township of Hahndorf.
They request that guests leave no sign of visitation, and take all waste with them.
