Standing tall at the end of East Terrace, this large white stone cairn marks Captain Charles Sturt’s passing through the region on January 30th, 1830 during his exploration of the Murray River. The memorial was unveiled in the centenary year of Sturt’s exploration. Overlooking the River Murray and town wharf, this is an ideal picnic spot.
